Create an account

This page explains how to create an EyalSec account, verify your email address, accept an invitation, and what a new account can do before a plan is set up.

Register

You create an account on the Register page, reached from the Register link on the sign-in page. It asks for a username, an email address and a password, and for your agreement to the terms.

1. Go to the Register page (/register/).
2. Choose a Username. This is what you type to sign in.
3. Enter your Email. EyalSec sends your verification link there, and later uses it as your recovery address for password resets.
4. Enter a Password and type it again under Confirm Password. It must follow the password rules; a meter under the field shows how strong it is.
5. Tick the box to agree to the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.
6. Click Create Account.

The page then says "Check your email to verify your account." You are not signed in yet. A background human check may also run while you submit; you do not need to do anything for it.

Verify your email

Your account stays inactive until you click the verification link EyalSec emails you. Clicking it activates the account, signs you in and takes you to your dashboard.

The link is valid for 24 hours and works once. If it has expired, the page says the link is invalid or has expired; register again to get a new one. If you sign in before verifying, the dashboard asks you to verify your email first.

No email arrived

The confirmation page looks the same whether or not an account could be created, so that nobody can use it to find out which usernames and addresses are already registered. If no email arrives within a few minutes, check your spam folder first.

If it still has not arrived, the username or the email address may already be in use:

• If you already have an account, sign in or use Forgot password.
• Otherwise, register again with a different username.

Too many sign-up attempts from the same network are refused for a while; wait and try again.

Sign up with Google

If the sign-in page shows a Continue with Google button, you can create an account with your Google account instead of the form. Click it, choose your Google account, and EyalSec creates your account and signs you in.

• Your Google address must be verified by Google.
• Your username is your email address, and your email is already verified, so there is no verification link to click.
• The account has no password. To add one, use Forgot password.

If an EyalSec account already uses that email address, Google signs you in to it instead of creating a new one. See Sign in with Google.

Accept an invitation

Some accounts start from an invitation link sent by EyalSec instead of the Register page. The link opens an Accept invitation page with your email address already filled in.

Choose a username and password, accept the terms and click Create Account. You are signed in straight away, with no verification email, and the account already has the plan and products chosen for you.

An invitation link works once and expires 24 hours after it was sent. If it says the invitation is invalid, used or expired, ask the person who invited you to send a new one.

An account with no plan yet

A new account you register yourself can sign in, but it cannot add machines or show events until a plan is set up for it. Every dashboard page shows a banner saying so: "No active plan on this account yet, so you cannot add a machine or see events."
